The year got off to a gloomy start following restrictions over Christmas and another lockdown. That didn’t stop us though!  One of the advantages of working outside is most exterior cleaners were able to carry on working and we continued to see high demand for our products.

The pandemic caused big problems in the global supply chain though, with shortages of construction materials and semi-conductors making the headlines.  Thankfully, the summer saw an end to lock-down and for me, a return to some of my favourite running events.  One highlight was the Conti Thunder Run Continental Thunder Run 24hr | Trail Running Race | Walton-on-Trent (tr24.org) which is the original 24-hour trail running race and like a festival for runners.  I was in a team of eight and completed four of the 10k laps overall.

In June, we added the DAcademy https://www.da-components.com/dacademy.html to our website.  This is a collection of our best blogs, and YouTube videos to share our expert knowledge and advice to help you get the best results.

Then we saw a return of two of our favourite cleaning shows. The first was the Cleaning Expo, where we were super busy catching up with our customers and demonstrating our most popular products, closely followed by The Cleaning Show in London, which is home to the Window Cleaning World cup where I came second.

Most recently, I recorded a podcast with Ashley Mackintosh, where we spoke about all things window cleaning, including equipment as well as plans for the future of DA.  So, listen out for the interview which is due to be released in the new year.  https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/am-exterior-cleaning-podcast/id1581336532

So, what can we expect in 2022?  While it is inevitable that we will continue to see disruption, we will keep doing our best to make sure we are stocked up with all your favourites or bringing you the best new alternatives – watch this space…
